The Centre Cannot Hold (Live)

by Chris Cleverley

/

about

A song about displacement, belonging, place and community, following the evacuation of Aleppo in 2016, during the Syrian Civil War.

It follows a narrative account of a refugee family, leaving the warzone which has taken their homeland from them.

Recorded live at Get Real Audio in September 2023, it is a reworking of the original version which appeared on the 2022 album 'Broadcast The Secret Verse', as heard on BBC 6 Music.
